Frank J. Mrvan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Indiana’s 1st district, has been vocal on several issues through his recent tweets. Serving since 2021 after succeeding Pete Visclosky, Mrvan has consistently engaged with topics ranging from trade laws to education and energy policy.

On May 6, 2025, Rep. Frank J. Mrvan expressed concerns about companies circumventing trade laws and impacting U.S. steel production capacity. He stated: “We should not entrust companies that have repeatedly circumvented our trade laws and have dumped large volumes of steel onto our shores with sustaining U.S. steel production capacity.”

The following day, May 7, he highlighted the importance of action during Teacher Appreciation Week by emphasizing the need for respect and resources for educators: “During Teacher Appreciation Week, let’s be clear. Appreciation isn’t just a thank you. It’s action. I will fight with everything I have to ensure our educators get the respect, resources, and support they deserve to keep doing the life changing work they do every single day.”

On May 8, Mrvan discussed his engagement with Secretary of Energy Wright regarding a Hydrogen Hub in Northwest Indiana during an Energy and Water Subcommittee hearing: “Spoke yesterday with Secretary of Energy Wright during our @AppropsDems Energy and Water Subcommittee hearing to highlight the value of a Hydrogen Hub in Northwest Indiana and my bipartisan collaboration and advocacy to see that its benefits are realized as soon as possible.”

Frank J. Mrvan was born in Hammond, Indiana in 1969 and currently resides in Highland. He graduated from Ball State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
