Cost of college went up for all students at Valparaiso University

Tuition and fees rose 3.9 percent for 2018-19 at Valparaiso University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Indiana students paid $40,260 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,500 more than the $38,760 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 801 students received grants or scholarships totaling $21.9 million and 553 students took out student loans totaling more than $5 million.

Including all undergraduates (3,786), 3,110 students used grants or scholarships totaling $84.4 million, and 2,145 students took out $22.2 million in federal student loans.
