Women's Basketball falls at #8 Grand Valley State

The Purdue Northwest women's basketball team fell on the road in GLIAC action against #8 Grand Valley State on Thursday evening, 88-47.

The Basics

•    Records: Purdue Northwest (5-15,1-9), #8 Grand Valley St. (18-2,9-1)

•    Location: John Friend Court - Hammond, Ind.

•    Attendance: 300

Inside The Numbers

•    Junior Mercedes Simmons (Crystal Falls, Mich./Forest Park) led the Pride scoring 14 points and grabbed five rebounds.

•    Junior Tadriana Heard (Justice, Ill./Argo) added 11 points and dished out two assists.

•    Junior Dash Shaw (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) chipped in ten points and notched two steals.

•    Emily Spitzley led the Lakers with 15 points.

The Breakdown

•    The Lakers started off fast in the first period of action taking a 24-11 lead.

•    Grand Valley St. continued their momentum throughout the game and did not look back.
