Frank J. Mrvan announces app challenge and community meetings for Indiana’s first district

Rep. Frank J. Mrvan, who represents Indiana’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed a range of topics on his official social media account, including political cooperation, youth technology engagement, and upcoming community events.

On August 18, 2025, Mrvan commented on legislative processes and inclusivity in policymaking: "One-power rule and extremism doesn’t get the results that look out for all of the residents of Indiana, and it doesn’t take into account the diversification of beliefs and being able to find the results in the best bipartisan way."

The following day, August 19, 2025, he announced an initiative aimed at young students interested in coding: "I am thrilled to announce that the 2025 Congressional App Challenge is now open to students attending middle and high school who are interested in coding and technology. This challenge is an opportunity for students across our region to showcase their talents and passion for the"

Frank J. Mrvan has served as Indiana’s representative since 2021 after succeeding Pete Visclosky (source). Before joining Congress, he was part of the North Township Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2021 (source). Born in Hammond in 1969 and currently residing in Highland, Mrvan graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
