U.S. Representative Frank J. Mrvan, who serves Indiana’s 1st congressional district, recently posted a series of messages on social media reflecting on local and national milestones as well as his engagement with constituents.
On August 25, 2025, Mrvan marked the anniversary of a key federal agency: "On the 109th anniversary of the National Park Service, our region is grateful for the dedicated staff, resources, and opportunities provided by @IndianaDunesNPS, which continues to enrich our communities and strengthen our economy."
The following day, August 26, 2025, he acknowledged a historic milestone in American civil rights: "As we celebrate the 105th anniversary of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote, our fight for equality continues. From equal pay to reproductive rights, we must ensure that women have the right to make their own decisions about their bodies, futures, and economic"
On August 27, 2025, Mrvan expressed appreciation for civic participation at a recent event: "Thank you to all residents who were able to join our Community Conversation in Portage earlier today. I’m grateful for this opportunity to hear from constituents, and I look forward to taking your concerns back to DC to fight for our region."
Frank J. Mrvan has represented Indiana’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Pete Visclosky in 2021. Before serving in Congress, he was part of the North Township Board of Trustees from 2005 through 2021. Born in Hammond in 1969 and currently residing in Highland at age 54, Mrvan earned his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in 1992.
