The Calumet College Men's Bowling team traveled to Nevada for their final Tier 1 competitions of the year, the Glenn Carlson Invitational and the Collegiate Shoot-Out.

Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational

The Wave had a rollercoaster of a time during the 9 games and struggled to stay consistent throughout the rounds. Sitting in 5th place after 3 games, CCSJ dropped down to 9th after 6, then down to 10th after 7 games, and finished the 9 games back in 9th place making it into the Team Baker Finals.

In the Crimson Wave's first round, the team beat Davenport University going 3-2 in the 5 rounds to advance and take on St. Xavier University. The Wave took down SXU 3-1 and advanced to the semi-finals against Tennessee Southern, but came up short, losing 3-0 as Tennessee Southern went on to win the Championship.

The Wave's comeback was a total team effort, only placing one athlete in the Top 80. Joey Ocello had the highest finish for CCSJ with a 1670 total and 208.75 average in 8 games. Dylan Dobran finished with a 1511 total and 188.875 average and Ian Dobran was not far behind with a 1508 total and 188.5 average in 8 games. Stefano Cittadino had a 1377 total and 196.714 average in 7 games, Patrick McLetchie had a total of 1038 and 207.6 average in 5 games, Connor Pula had a total of 927 with a 185.4 average in 5 games, Kyle Johnston with a 618 total and 206 average in 3 games, and Nick Dudeck with a 178 total and average in 1 game.

Collegiate Shoot-Out

After a tough two-day invite, the Crimson Wave looked to turn around the trip at the Collegiate Shoot-Out, where many of the same teams were competing. CCSJ had a strong start to the tournament, placed 2nd after 6 games, making the Semi-Final matches, and after 9 games finishing 4th. The Wave were grouped with Webber International, Davenport University, and St. Xavier. CCSJ fell just short in advancing to the Championship Match, finishing 3rd and 67 pins behind Davenport and 212 pins behind the eventual championship team Webber International.

The Crimson Wave had two athletes finish in the Top 10 Individual Averages after 6 games. Ocello led the Wave with a 3rd place finish, a 1391 total and a 231.833 average. Cittadino finished 5th with a 1351 total and 225.167 average, also bowling a perfect 300 in Game 4. Also with a high finish was Ian Dobran finished 22nd with a 1296 total and 216 average.

In 3 games Dudeck had a 653 total and 217.667 average, McLetchie had a 638 total and 212.667 average, Pula had a 598 total and 199.33 average, and Dylan Dobran with a 592 total and 197.22 average.
