Women’s Bowling posts two Top-15 finishes at Vegas Invites

Rounding out the 2022 season, the Calumet College Women's Bowling team finished the year with two Tier 1 events at the Glenn Carlson Invitational and Collegiate Shoot-Out in Las Vegas.

Starting off the Invite, the Crimson Wave were in 16th place after 3 games, 17th after 6 games, improved to 15th after 8 games, and finished in 12th after 9 games with a 7998 Overall Total, but came up short of advancing to the Team Baker Finals. The Wave's 12th place finish was an improvement from 2021's 14th place finish.

Leading CCSJ in 9 games were Piper Plautz in 25th with a 1685 total and 187.222 average and Savanah Rodriguez in 40th with a 1623 total and 180.333 average.

In 8 games, Paige Plautz finished 53rd with a total of 1558 and an average of 194.75. In 7 games, Brooklinn Chavez had a total of 1219 and 174.143 average, and Alyssa Olson an 1171 total with an average of 167.286. In 3 games, Lauren Brown had a 445 total with a 148.333 total and Law'ren Betterson had a 297 total and 148.5 average in 2 games.

Collegiate Shoot-Out

The Crimson Wave were off to a good start on Day 1, sitting at 8th place with an Overall Total of 5549 after 6 games. Day 2 Baker Games, the Wave moved down the standings to 13th with a total of 8312 and just missed qualifying for the Semi-Final match.

Paige Plautz had a Top-10 finish for the Wave, finishing 10th with an overall total of 1215 and 202.5 average in 6 games. Rodriguez finished 29th with an 1140 overall total and 190 average. Chavez finished 39th with an overall total of 1116 and 186 average and Piper Plautz finished 63rd with a total of 1037 and an average of 172.833. In 5 games, Olson finished with a total of 915 and an average of 183 and in 1 game Betterson had a total of 126.
