PNW Athletics posts 3.2 GPA in Fall 2022
The Purdue University Northwest Department of Athletics announced its student-athletes produced a cumulative team GPA of 3.19 in Fall 2021.
The Pride continue to excel in the classroom as the department has produced 14 straight semesters with at least a 3.0 GPA, and the Pride have also maintained an 87-percent retention rate.
"Congratulations to our amazing student-athletes on a another great semester," Rick Costello, PNW Director of Athletics said. "I want to thank the faculty, academic services staff and coaches for rallying around the Pride of PNW to achieve excellence in the classroom."
Women's Tennis took top honors with a 3.73 team GPA while Women's Soccer finished with a 3.66 team GPA. The top five teams included Women's Golf (3.64), Men's Tennis (3.52) and Softball (3.42).
"Our student-athletes continue to impress me on and off the playing field," said Natalie Jarrett, Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services. "Our commitment as a department to strive academically is one of core values and it showed again this semester."
Also in the fall 2022 semester, 30 student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA, 131 student-athletes earned a 3.5 or higher GPA, and 212 student-athletes earned a 3.0 or higher GPA.
