Notice of Hearing on Proposed Rates

Property owners, ratepayers and other interested parties in or served or to be served by the sewage works of the City of Crown Point, Indiana ("City") are hereby notified that Ordinance No. 2022-12-29 ("Ordinance"), establishing rates and charges for the sewage works of the City, was introduced at a meeting of the Common Council held on December 19, 2022.  At a meeting of the Common Council to be held at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2023, in the Crown Point City Hall, and via Zoom link - https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89566850445, (Link is subject to change – in the event of a change, the link will be posted via the City website at www.crownpoint.in.gov prior to the start of the meeting), there will be a public hearing on the matter of the rates and charges and consideration of adoption of the Ordinance which provides as follows:

1.    Billing and operation, maintenance and replacement rate per 1,000 gallons of usage per month:  $6.59    

2.    Local Capital Charge per 1,000 gallons of usage per month:  $4.48     

3.    Minimum Rate Per Month

5/8-inch meter    $33.21

3/4-inch meter     $47.85 

1-inch meter    $84.99 

1 1/2-inch meter    $191.25 

2-inch meter     $340.05 

3-inch meter      $765.07 

4-inch meter    $1,360.10 

6-inch meter    $3,060.23 

All other provisions of and all other rates and charges shall remain in full force and effect, including Section 51.39 of the City's Municipal Code which imposes an additional charge for users of the City's sewage works located outside the corporate limits of the City in the amount of 25% of the billing for said sewer usage computed at the rates established above.

At such hearing and prior to final adoption of said ordinance all interested parties may appear and be heard.  A copy of Ordinance No. 2022-12-29 may be examined at the office of the Clerk Treasurer.
