U.S. Representative Frank J. Mrvan, who serves Indiana’s 1st congressional district, used his social media platform to highlight labor rights and community engagement in a series of recent posts.

On September 1, 2025, Mrvan marked the Labor Day holiday by reflecting on the contributions of union workers. He stated, "On #LaborDay we remember the generations of union workers who fought for fair wages, safety, and dignity on the job. I will continue to stand with members of organized labor today and everyday in the fight for superior working conditions across our region. #Solidarity https://t.co/swIZyvT4XA"

The following day, September 2, 2025, Mrvan addressed the role of United Steelworkers in Northwest Indiana and advocated for their participation in decisions impacting their work. He wrote, "For generations, members of the United Steelworkers in Northwest Indiana have operated Gary Works, the largest integrated steel mill in North America, and they deserve a seat at the table where decisions about their livelihoods are being made. We must recognize the essential"

On September 3, 2025, Mrvan thanked participants from a recent community event and encouraged ongoing communication with his office: "Thank you everyone who was able to attend our Community Conversations last week! If you were not able to attend and or have a follow up question, please feel free to contact my office anytime through my website here: https://t.co/qQacNe2oHe https://t.co/qM61G5LonU"

Frank J. Mrvan has represented Indiana’s 1st district since replacing Pete Visclosky in Congress in 2021. Before joining Congress, he served on the North Township Board of Trustees from 2005 to 2021. Born in Hammond in 1969 and currently residing in Highland at age 54, Mrvan graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
