2021 has 5.4% of LaPorte County residents unemployed

LaPorte County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.4% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 2,799 people out of the 112,184 living in LaPorte County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in LaPorte County has decreased compared to the 5.5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in LaPorte County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.7%.

Of the 49,188 people who had a job during that time, 14 were employed in the Armed Forces and 49,174 belonged to the civilian labor force.
