Frank J. Mrvan, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 1st district, has been vocal about several issues through his recent tweets. Since replacing Pete Visclosky in 2021, Mrvan has been an advocate for community-focused policies and law enforcement support.
On May 13, 2025, Mrvan spoke on the House floor to express his support for funding the CASA program. He stated, "Spoke on the House floor in support of funding for the CASA program. I believe that our nation’s values and policies are shown by how we direct funds, and turning our backs on children survivors in order to justify massive tax cuts for the wealthy is both shameful and bad policy."
In another post dated May 15, 2025, Mrvan invited constituents to participate in his rescheduled Community Conversations scheduled for May 29, 2025. He emphasized the importance of these events by stating, "I invite residents to attend one of my rescheduled Community Conversations that I will be holding on May 29, 2025. I believe these opportunities allow me to hear directly from constituents and better represent our collective interests in our nation’s capital."
On the same day, during Police Week, Mrvan acknowledged the Lake County Sheriff’s Department's efforts and expressed gratitude towards them. He posted, "During Police Week, I want to thank the Lake County Sheriff’s Department for joining me in our nation’s capital to advocate for law enforcement officers. I will continue to do all I can to support law enforcement officers who are on the frontlines protecting our communities."
Frank J. Mrvan was born in Hammond, Indiana in 1969 and graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
