Frank J. Mrvan addresses heroism and global issues on social media

Rep. Frank J. Mrvan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Indiana’s 1st district, recently shared a series of statements on social media addressing various topics. Mrvan, who succeeded Pete Visclosky in 2021 and has served since then, discussed issues ranging from local heroism to international security concerns.

On June 17, 2025, Rep. Mrvan spoke on the House floor to honor Ms. Sara Schaller from Hammond. Schaller was recognized for her bravery with the Carnegie Medal after saving a girl from drowning in Lake Michigan.

The following day, June 18, 2025, he expressed his concerns as a member of the House Appropriations Committee about the escalating military conflict in the Middle East. He highlighted worries regarding "the prospect of extremist Iranian leaders acquiring a nuclear weapon" and its implications for global security.

On June 19, 2025, Rep. Mrvan took to social media to encourage everyone to explore Juneteenth's significance using resources available through the Library of Congress.

Frank J. Mrvan was born in Hammond, Indiana in 1969 and currently resides in Highland. He graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992 and previously served on the North Township Board of Trustees from 2005 until his congressional election.
